Dear Chicago,
Thank you to the two best friends walking down the street in floral skirts, v-necks, and gladiator sandals. You reminded me of how I want my life to be when I’m their age.
Thank you to the gorgeous guy on the train that was smiling at me. It gave me a confidence boost that was well needed, plus you got some asshole out of my head. I’m really mad that I didn’t get your number, but I’m glad I saw you.
Thank you to the hobbo with tie dye sleeping bag. You were pretty cool.
Thank you to Rick the doorman at the Millenium Apartment Center. Small talk and exchanging asparagus recipes with my mom in the lobby made the whole losing our car keys situation better.
Thank you to the drunk people of the Excalibur Bar. It was endless amusement counting all of you with my sister.
Thank you to the chique twenty-year-olds all dressed-up to go club hopping. You ladies gave me a look at what I want my future to be like. Having fun with my girlfriends, while wearing sexy heels and a cute dress.
Thank you to Navy Pier for being Illinois’ own little Disney World.
Finally, thank you to the beautiful night skyline. It fucking blew me away.
Sincerely,
A Visitor Named Nicolette
